A Dedicated Aparthotel Developer & Operator

St David Aparthotels

About Us

St David Aparthotels

Our Aparthotels comprise of fully self-contained apartments, which are aimed at the upper end of the market.

They are established properties, which we have totally refurbished to the highest standard. They comply with all planning and regulatory requirements.

Our aparthotels are marketed through our dedicated website offering direct bookings and portals such as Booking.com.

We have a state of the art Mews system, which allows for remote check-in/out. This negates the need for expensive reception staff and caters for guests who want a degree of independence without sacrificing a quality service. Everything is fully automated, with day to day operations (house-keeping etc.) being overseen by a Regional Manager based in the area.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our aparthotels. We are pleased to be able to advise that in the first three months of operation our Old Lyric Hall Aparthotel in Barrow-in-Furness has enjoyed an average occupancy rate of over 70%.

Based on over 120 independent reviews, it has a 9.5 / 10 (Exceptional) rating on Booking.com

We also have over a 40% retention/re-booking rate, which reflects the quality of the aparthotel.

Conveniently Located, Quality Self-Contained Units

The Aparthotel Sector

To most people, an aparthotel comprises self-contained studio or one bedroom apartments. They offer short-let accommodation ranging from one night to three months. In recent years the aparthotel sector has expanded as more people seek 'value for money' in conveniently located, quality self-contained units.

Many aparthotels do not have facilities such as bars, restaurants and reception areas. Check-in procedures are remotely handled and laundry & cleaning services are provided less frequently than a standard hotel.

The brand chains typically have a uniform design and standard which appeals to a particular segment of the market. Over the last few years, as the sector has grown, they have moved the product up-market in terms of quality of room fittings and appearance. This is particularly the case in London and other major cities where the brand chains are increasing their market share.

In other parts of the country, the standards and quality tend to be lower, reflecting the lack of investment and professional management that the chains can offer.

Aparthotels fall under the planning classification of C1 - Hotels. As is to be expected, they vary in quality, size and style.

Some have modern operating systems, utilising dynamic pricing methods and remote check-in technology. Others rely on antiquated booking systems, physical door keys issued by a receptionist and an owner-operator hands-on approach.

"Investors are drawn to the sector’s ability to enhance revenue through increased guest demand, brand development, and scalability. Additionally, the lean business model of aparthotels and serviced apartments is well placed to weather challenges.
The 2025 Savills Operational Real Estate investor survey illustrates buyer confidence, with serviced apartments ranking highest among all hotel sub-segments for UK and European investors’ three-year target plans. The future looks bright for this dynamic and growing segment of the market."

- James Bradley, Director of Hotel Valuation at Savills

"The aparthotel sector as a whole has gone from strength to strength over the last few years.
From being a niche concept back in the early 2000s, it's now a sector of the hospitality industry where serious investments are being made."

- Shaan Ahmed, COO of Roomz

Developing Quality Properties

An Experienced Construction Team

We enjoy breathing new life into structurally sound character buildings and giving them a new lease of life as a St David Aparthotel offering quality self-contained accommodation. Our construction team has had extensive experience in developing properties. We pride ourselves on delivering quality, competitively price properties on time and on budget.
All our aparthotels are structurally sound buildings which we totally refurbish.
The work typically includes, but is not limited to, internal redesign, restoring original brickwork, new partitioning, new kitchen units and en-suites, plastering, electrical rewiring, energy-efficient heating, and smart technology such as keyless entry and advanced security systems.
Where appropriate, heritage elements, such as sash windows and original staircases, are also carefully preserved.
Our aim is to create aparthotels that offer quality accommodation for our guests, whilst ensuring ongoing operating and maintenance costs are minimised.
